Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2: New Maps

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 video game consoles and the Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Officially announced on February 11, 2009,the game was released worldwide on November 10, 2009. It is the sixth installment of the Call of Duty series and the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, continuing along the same storyline. It was released in conjunction with two other Call of Duty games: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized for the Nintendo DS, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex, a port of Call of Duty 4 adapted by Treyarch for the Wii console.

NEW MAPS RELEASED

Late last month, XBOX live users were able to download the long awaited map stimulus pack that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 creators have been promising for some time. Playstation 3 and PC users had to wait a little longer to receive there package, but the wait was worth it.

Now the Playstation 3 system, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 gaming area posted a message to all of the users that a new Map Package is available for free. The store did not upload the Stimulus package , with the maps costing only $14.99.

The maps can be purchased directly through your system with the use of a credit card. The file, which is 138MB only takes about ten minutes to download and contains new maps as well as a new rendering of two maps from the first Call of Duty. There are five maps total named Bailout, Crash, Overgrown, Salvage, and Storm.

The releasing of the maps has been reported to be the first and last map package release for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II game until the development of a new gametakes place. So far, the release has been very successful. During the first week after release of the Stimulus package on XBox360, it was reported that nearly two and a half million people downloaded the maps.
